The Family Welfare Research and Training Group produces a number of reports on issues related to both Welfare and Child Support issues, including time limits, leavers, arrears, and the groundbreaking Life After Welfare series.

Welfare Leavers
Studies that answer the questions, Why do families leave welfare? and What happens to them when they are no longer receiving cash assistance?
  Sanctions These reports examine case closures due to full-family sanctions.
Life After Welfare Maryland's large-scale, longitudinal study of what happens to families after they exit the TANF rolls. Measured outcomes include employment, recidivism, receipt of transitional benefits, and involvement in the child welfare system. Each subsequent report includes additional samples and additional follow-up data.
Caseload Exits A series of reports that examines the universe of cases that have left cash assistance in Maryland since the state's welfare reform program, the Family Investment Program (FIP), began in October, 1996.

Life on Welfare
Who is using welfare today? The Life On Welfare series examines aspects of the active TANF caseload in Maryland, including studies on reaching time limits and the various barriers faced by welfare recipients.
  Caseload Characteristics Snapshots of the active TCA caseload.
Barriers Barriers to employment can include incarceration and domestic violence.
Time Limits With the passing of PRWORA we began the era of time limits to welfare receipt. These reports examine recipients who are nearing or have surpassed the limit.
