The Policy and Skills Training Team (PSTT) specializes in workforce support and development
training for Maryland's Family Investment workers. PSTT provides staff support training for local agency front-line
workers who serve customers receiving Temporary Cash Assistance. Training topics and course development
include refresher training on TCA client notices, appeals, conciliation, and sanctions, a customer courtesy
workshop, and assessment skills training, among others. Course content determines whether the design
emphasis for the learning event is cognitive, experiential, or both, depending on the training goal. State-of-the-art
presentation tools are utilized to deliver professional classroom training to staff in all twenty-four Maryland jurisdictions.
PSTT provides a training support resource to the Family Investment Administrations of DHR and
ultimately, if indirectly, serves the families and children of Maryland.
